MS. MA. CIEFREL T. DESQUITADO

Ma. Ciefrel T. Desquitado is a Bank Officer V under the BSP’s Policy and Specialized Supervision Sub-Sector. She has worked significantly on various BSP regulations and initiatives covering sustainable finance, financial consumer protection, and rural banking during her 15-year tenure in the BSP.

She is a core member of the BSP Technical Working Group (TWG) on Sustainable Finance, which plays a crucial role in developing and implementing the BSP's Sustainable Finance Framework and other climate and environmental policies and regulations of the BSP.

She is deeply involved in several engagements and collaborations on sustainable finance, both national and international. These include the Financial Sector Forum TWG on Sustainable Finance, which aims to develop or harmonize domestic policies on essential areas such as taxonomy, disclosures, corporate governance, and risk management.

She also has represented BSP in regional and international engagements, such as the ASEAN Working Group on the Roles of Central Banks in Managing Climate and Environment-related Risks, the BIS Innovation Network Working Group, and the Central Banks and Supervisors Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS).
